DICTIONARY PROJECT 2011
The Rotary Club of London North is scheduled this fall to deliver 755 dictionaries to Grade 3 students in 22 Public and Catholic Public Schools in London.
This project receives the support of 100% of our members who are only too happy to visit these schools and speak to the grade three students while handing them their individual dictionaries.
Our club's cost for this project will be over $2300.
Our club is only one of nine local Rotary clubs who are participating in the distribution of dictionairies to grade three students in the London, St. Thomas and Aylmer area.
Once again, local Rotary Clubs have banded together so they can make a greater impact
serving the social needs of our local community.
The programme which has been very popular with teachers and students is now in its third year of operation and is funded from monies we raise though our golf tournament, the Rotary TV and Internet Auction and donation from our many "Friends of Rotary".
It is project within our Worldwide Literacy Programme which aims to improve upon the
literacy skills of children in Canada and throughout the world.
